Reverse Action Tumble Dryers
A reverse action tumble dryer turns the drum one way, then the other, during the cycle. This stops clothes winding into a tangled ball, so they dry more evenly and come out with fewer creases. It makes the most difference with sheets, duvet covers and shirts.

How does reverse action work?
In a standard dryer the drum turns in one direction, so long items like sheets can wrap around smaller clothes and leave damp patches. Reverse action changes direction every few minutes, which shakes the load loose and lets warm air reach every item.
Reverse action on every type of dryer
You'll find reverse action on heat pump, condenser and vented tumble dryers, so you can choose the type that suits your home and still get the anti-tangle benefit.
Is reverse action worth it?
If you dry a lot of bedding, shirts or mixed loads, yes. You'll spend less time untangling and ironing, and fewer items come out still damp.
